ROSEMARY TURNBULL has enjoyed a distinguished career as a singer, vocal coach and choral director. Following a music degree at Canterbury University, she was the recipient of a Post Graduate Fellowship which enabled her to study singing, diction, accompanying and conducting at the Royal Conservatoire in Brussels. As a soloist, Rosemary subsequently performed with choirs and orchestras throughout NZ and overseas.

She has over 30 years’ experience teaching singing in secondary schools and in her studio. Her school choirs have been regular finalists in The Big Sing and her chamber choir, the Hagley Singers, gave many acclaimed performances. Rosemary was contralto tutor for New Zealand Secondary Schools Choir for 6 years and was chosen as a Choral Facilitator for the New Zealand Choral Federation, training with Simon Halsey and Andre Thomas, among others. She has been a vocal consultant for the New Zealand Youth Choir, a regional adjudicator for the Big Sing and is a past member of the Governance Board of the NZCF.

Her focus is now is as Director of the Cecilian Singers in Christchurch, as well as the continuation of her studio work and vocal consultancy.
